Rice Pantry is a cool and colourful all-day eatery and bar serving up ‘urban Vietnamese’. With Bryan Zhu (a former Masterchef Australia contestant described as a “maniac chef” by owners Cecilia and Jackie) in the kitchen, the menu was always going to be creative, fun and inspired. Touted as Modern Asian with a bit of Australian influence, it features a now-famous Vietnamese coffee lamington, which could just be the ultimate fusion dish!
As a first venture into the restaurant industry for both owners, Rice Pantry presented a number of challenges. They were not accustomed to dealing with commercial refrigeration equipment and were concerned that, should anything break down, their restaurant’s operations would suffer until it could be fixed. The owners had previously had a negative experience with a storage fridge in their previous café and had encountered poor service.
Cecilia and Jackie spent considerable time researching refrigeration brands and speaking to several suppliers and industry friends before shortlisting two brands, including Bromic. They were particularly seeking a range that offered plenty of variety for their different needs, and a service arrangement by which they could call a technician who would attend in rapid time. Bromic was selected for all Rice Pantry’s back-of-house refrigeration needs.
Friends in the industry have always said good things about Bromic. The warranty, the range the call-outs and the competitive pricing combined with quality product and reliable service. Because Rice Pantry is our first restaurant, I need to know that the product was going to be reliable. That was a massive thing for me. The fact that I can call a service number if there’s any issue is very reassuring.
